About PCOS
PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) is a condition in which a woman’s eggs don’t mature properly each month and she doesn’t ovulate properly. The classic symptoms include long or irregular menstrual cycles, missed periods, excess facial or body hair, acne, weight gain and infertility.
There is no specific test for PCOS, so a doctor may carry out a range of tests and will also consider all the signs and symptoms to diagnose the condition. PCOS can be linked to hormone imbalances and nutritional factors.
Recommended supplements
To support the nutritional requirements of the body when you have PCOS we would recommend including a wide ranging multivitamin, an anti-oxidant formula and build your stores of DHA and EPA Omega 3 as well as taking an Inositol supplement, an essential component of cell walls. We would therefore recommend the following:
Vitafem, Vitafem Boost and Vital DHA are all included in our Female Pre-conception Support Pack.

Nutrition consultation
Supplements can be helpful but are not a substitute for a healthy diet tailored to your individual needs. Adopting the right nutritional approach and lifestyle can help you to manage the symptoms of PCOS and support healthy hormonal function. Conventional healthy eating guidelines may not be the most appropriate dietary approach for women with PCOS. Helping to manage the symptoms of PCOS is a speciality of the clinic and we have a great deal of experience in this area. We can recommend a special nutrition plan, based on sound principles with the option of regular monitoring and support to help you keep on track.
Consultations last 60 minutes and can be carried out in person or by Skype.
